It is often considered that Islam is anti-gay, that Quran forbids homosexuality, and homosexuals will be punished by Allah. It is not uncommon to hear that one cannot be gay and muslim. However, various activists are challenging that narrative, pointing out that the Quran doesn’t say anything against homosexuality, and it is the flawed interpretation of the holy book that has led to the current situation. Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Bund is one such activist who has written various articles on homosexuality and Islam.
