For close to half a century, San Francisco has celebrated lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) pride with parades, celebrations and festivals. Its rich counterculture history stretches from North Beach to the Castro and dates as far back as the mid-1800s.
A collection of Chennai-based collectives and NGOs working on gender and sexuality, in partnership with Goethe-Institut Chennai | Max Mueller Bhavan, brings you Reel Desires: Chennai International Queer Film Festival (CIQFF) from July 28 to 30, 2017.
Around 147 films from 45 countries that reflect the diversity of the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer communities will be screened at two venues in South Mumbai - the city's iconic art deco theatre Liberty Cinema and Alliance de Francaise. This year's festival theme is "Diverse, One" and explores the diversity of the LGBTQ communities.
3rd edition of Chennai Rainbow Film Festival is set to start from Dec 7th and comprises of various events along a stretch of 5 days including film screenings, a fashion show, panel discussion and award ceremony.
