Sab Rab De Bande, a documentary that explores the topic of being queer and Sikh, will have its world premier at Reel Desires – Chennai International Queer Film Festival – CIQFF 2020 ONLINE. The film festival is being held over 4 days, and Sab Rab De Bande will be screened on the first day of the festival on Dec 5th at 5pm.

Organised by Orinam and Goethe-Institute, in partnership with Nirangal, Chennai Queer Café (CQC), SAATHII, and East-West Center for Counselling and Training, the eighth edition of CIQFF is being held online over two weekends – Dec 5-6 and 12-13 of December 2020 between 4pm to 7pm. Reel Desires features films, shorts and documentaries showcasing sexuality and gender diversity issues. This year’s line-up consists of 25 films from 12 countries, selected via a community-led review process.

Sab Rab De Bande has been directed by Sukhdeep Singh, who has been working on the movie for 4 years. A crowdfunding campaign was launched in February 2020, and achieved its goal in 2 weeks. The movie features four different queer Sikhs from various parts of India, who share their stories about coming out to family and friends, as well as accepting their religious identity and the reactions they receive from various quarters of society owing to their inter-sectional identities.

The movie will be streamed online between 5pm to 5:30pm on 5th Dec and is free for all to watch. You can watch it by joining via the link: https://tinyurl.com/rdciqff2020
