PURPLE SKIES – Voices of Indian lesbians, bisexuals & transmen – is a documentary feature directed by Sridhar Rangayan. ‘Purple Skies’ weaves together stories of pain, trauma, hope and happiness of lesbian, bisexual and trans (LBT) persons to offer an evocative, endearing tapestry of contemporary Indian LBT lives – sometime sad, sometime anguished, sometime dreamy and sometime hopeful. The documentary was also telecast by Doordarshan in 2015. The film is produced by Public Service Broadcasting Trust (PSBT) in association with Solaris Pictures, and is now available online as well.
Sukhdeep Singh is the founder and editor of Gaylaxy magazine. He is the director of Sab Rab De Bande - an award winning documentary on LGBTQ Sikhs in India. He has contributed the chapter on Homosexuality and Sikhism in the book 'I Am Divine, So Are You'
