Cory Monteith, best known for playing Finn Hudson in the popular TV series Glee, was found dead in a hotel room in Vancouver, Canada . The 31 year old actor was found dead on Saturday by the staff of the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel after he failed to check out on July 13th. He had checked into the hotel on July 6 and was to check out on 13th, the police told.
The cause of death has yet not been found, but police do not suspect any foul play. It is being said that drug overdose could be the reason for his death, though the police are waiting for a forensic test, results of which will be available only on Monday. Monteith had been to rehab previously for his addiction to drugs and alcohol.
While Glee brought him to limelight, Monteith had also appeared in other TV series like Smallville, Supernatural and played minor roles in movies Final Destination 3, Whisper and Deck the Halls. A statement was released by 20th Century Fox TV after his death stating, “We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”
