For close to half a century, San Francisco has celebrated lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) pride with parades, celebrations and festivals. Its rich counterculture history stretches from North Beach to the Castro and dates as far back as the mid-1800s.
Over 7,000 participants from across the country and world marched alongside the rainbow flag, chanting slogans to repeal section 377, fighting for transgender rights and dancing with pride to the rhythmic drumbeats
Radio Active CR 90.4, in association with Namma Pride Bengaluru 2017, organised Queer Readings and Conversations – an effort to bring together Bengaluru’s queer community and allies, offer them a safe platform to express themselves, recite poems and discuss matters of queer existence through the passages from books they chose to read aloud.
