“Koi meri feelings ko teen aksharon mein kaise samajh sakta hai?” These are the powerful words with which the trailer of Hansal Mehta’s Aligarh begins. The trailer shows power packed performances by Manoj Bajpayi, who plays the character of Dr. Siras in the movie, and Rajkummar Rao, who plays a journalist tracking Siras’s story.
But as we reported earlier, the Censors think that homosexuality is an “adult only” subject and have instead given an “A” certificate to the movie. They have also proposed a few cuts to the movie. Mr. Mehta, furious at the Censor Board’s decision, has said he will approach the Tribunal for a reversal. In the meantime, you can watch the trailer and decide for yourself if it should have been given an ‘A’ certificate or not.
