Queer Bazaar, Delhi

Queer Bazaar, one of the most awaited events preceding Delhi Queer Pride this year, saw an amazing crowd, terrific sales and lots of rainbow colors yesterday at the Akshara Theatre, Connaught Place, New Delhi.

The bazaar is organised by Delhi Queer Pride Committee to raise funds for the main Pride Walk to be held on November 24th. Queer Bazaar was started last year and was a huge success. This year too it drew a large crowd. “The Open Mic” was a new addition to the carnival this year.

People flocked in to buy the superbly cut-priced stuffs. The bookstall was busy throughout the event with people trying to get the best of books for prices ranging from Rs50- Rs150. The clothesline had stuff from Zara, Van Heusen as well as ethnic wears. Stationery, decorative pieces, jewellery and accessories also caught people’s eyes.

On the spot face painting and portrait sketch, photography with rainbow costume and accessories and the gorgeous blue-haired (wig) fortune teller added more life to the carnival. The bazaar opened at 3 in the afternoon while the main event started at 8pm. After such a colorful and extravagant bazaar, the city now looks forward to the main pride walk with anxious hearts!
